Learning Path Overview
In this learning path, we will explore the skills students learn as they learn how to code and how teachers can integrate coding into their curriculum. Through the analysis of computational thinking and coding, we will examine how to support the development of 21st-century skills and social-emotional wellbeing in students. You will walk away with some ideas to adapt to your classroom and a deeper understanding of how coding fits into your students' learning.

Level 103
Coding Authentic Learning Projects
Authentic learning gives students the opportunity to learn through doing while solving real-world problems. Accordingly, authentic opportunities to code allow students to apply their coding knowledge in a real-world context. In this session, you will explore examples of authentic coding projects integrated into the curriculum. Infusing coding skills into authentic learning is a powerful way to spark inquiry and boost students’ understanding.

Level 104
Coding and Robotics
Whenever a robot performs an action, it is running code. Students using robots are able to observe whether their code is fully functional or still needs iteration. In this course, we will examine how robotics and coding work together and will explore some robots that offer a variety of coding opportunities to students. Discover how coding and robotics can align across the curriculum and can be successfully implemented by any teacher!

Level 101
Introduction to Coding for Every Teacher
Coding continues to be a hot topic in education because it teaches a wide variety of skills. Since coding can be incorporated into any content area, it would benefit all teachers to learn the basics of coding. In this course, you will examine the benefits of teaching coding to your students, identify key concepts of coding that can be incorporated across the curriculum, and explore a few tools that can be used in any content area to code with students.

Level 102
Offline Coding
As teachers work to incorporate coding, one challenge may be access to the internet, devices, or coding tools. However, exploring the concept of coding does not require any of these; many coding concepts can be taught offline. In this course, you will explore activities that teach coding concepts without devices, internet connectivity, or coding tools. Building a foundation of coding knowledge - with or without technology - can be a powerful catalyst for future coding lessons!
